To summarize, in order to get the FULL benefit of the iPhone, you have to spend THOUSANDS on everything else apple? How is this a strength again?

This brings up an interesting question. A top of the line iPhone and a top of the line Samsung are roughly the same price and hardware specs, but the iPhone comes stuffed with Apple software, whereas most Samsung users use "free" Google software, so which phone is really more expensive as far as for usefulness out the box for the same dollar?

Similarly when you buy an Apple laptop or desktop it comes stuffed with quality Apple software, including its own version of Microsoft Office suite.

So, in other words, you aren't just paying for the hardware.

You're getting the software you need included.

This makes the typically ignorant Apple's over priced argument somewhat specious.

Apple's software is trash. I have 3 Macbook Pros because they are the best for what I do, which is more because of the the decisions of our IT department and the community around the language I work in having a preference towards macs. Anyway, aside from the OS, I dont use any Apple software. Hell, I don't even use the native terminal and the file explorer is garbage as well. Docs, sheets, maps, photos, mail, browser are all better from Google. Their software is an afterthought, not an added benefit.
