No he isn't. He is arguing with pretenders.

It’s because this whole thread is a straw man argument that’s supposed to be some kind of gotcha for Trump voters.
Its been pretty eye-opening. MAGA admitted what I always suspected, they are left wing populists dressed up as Republicans.

Wrong.
No, I'm right.
But that's ok. We all know who you are now.

I think that we see absolutely zero improvement in fiscal policies by switching Biden out for Trump. And if you think otherwise you're a fool. Trump will do everything he can to juice economic growth for his legacy. He cares about that more than the future of this nation.
I just don’t think it’s possible to get any significant portion of the country on board with fiscal responsibility in the age of now now now instant gratification social media age where people my age have been massively fricked by the housing marking crash and Covid.
Nobody gives a shite about any of that. It feels like half the people my age don’t even think any of this shite is real. Save? Be responsible with the bills we pass? lol Why? It’s all fricked anyways.
We should the right sell as the guy to curb the spending?

This has been the best thread to see just how off "conservative Bush" types are.
You mean people who actually want to reduce our deficit and not just support Trump blindly while he does the opposite?

It was RINOS that passed the spending and then the Dems.
Trump's admin not only negotiated on all of these spending bills, but he also signed off on them.

Look at the reactions to changing Social Security; we can't even do that without people getting up in arms.
Yeah it's the people who expect congress to honor the promise made that's the problem. Not the politicians that took money out of it. Not the endless wars that have cost us trillions. Not globalism under the guise of Free Trade that has pulled wealth out of the USA...
Nah... Just the fact that people get a little touchy over their money.

This thread is not about choice or voting.
It's about Trump's plan for inflation and reducing the federal debt/deficit.
Trumpkins have tried to avoid answering by derailing this thread into one about choices, when that's irrelevant to the thread.

No promise ever existed. That was a talking point that only dullards believe.

These are also examples of talking points.

I think there are plenty of people who would be on board with some spending restraint if they took 4 minutes to educate themselves on the issue

This thread is very entertaining to say the least.
Hopefully some of you will wake the frick up. Maybe demand some solutions from our political leaders.

I'm not arguing with you. The larger point is that this is not a partisan issue.
Like I've said a few times, this thread isn't about Trump. It's about talking points spouted by NPC Trump fanboys.

If pretenders = people more educated than yourself.
Your economics are bordering on Bernie Sanders.
quote:
Stephanie Kelton: So the conventional thinking about budget deficits, I think, tends to be that people look at a deficit and they think that it’s evidence of overspending. They think it’s evidence the government is mismanaging its books. That it’s done something wrong. [But] evidence of overspending is inflation.
So what is the budget deficit? I like to do this by using an example. I think it helps people. If you think of the government deficit as the difference between what the government spends into the economy and what it taxes back out, then imagine a government that spends $100 into the U.S. economy but it only taxes $90 back out. We label that a government deficit and we record that on the government’s books. But what we forget to do, is pay attention to the fact that there’s now $10 somewhere in the economy that wouldn’t have been there otherwise,
Youre an economic leftist.

Nobody is supporting him blindly Slow.
He is not perfect. There are things about him I don’t care for. But look at our other choices. The left has moved so far left that there is no middle ground or compromise with them.
It’s impossible for proud Americans like me to ever vote Democrat.
They are more worried about taking care of people that are here illegally than legal Americans. The black communities have been promised things by Democrats then stabbed in the back.
If we don’t throw all of our support behind Trump what are we left with? Illegal aliens with more rights than us? And teachers telling my son he has to call a man a woman?
No thanks, I’ll ride with Trump

Day by day, they reveal their desire for more government control over the economy.
They arent alone, the far left stands with them on this economic populist platform.

Probably not
Right answer

But we probably do need to look at the funding side of that
And how we can fund it to put back in what has been taken out.
As of 2021, roughly 3 trillion is owed to that from the federal gov who has been "Borrowing money" from it.
Another Law that Reagan signed.
From the Bush WH:
quote:
The Government Has Borrowed $1.7 Trillion From The Social Security Trust Fund. The government has borrowed the total value of the Trust Fund to pay for other government spending.
Social Security, like it or not, isn't the issue. It's the management of it!
