If you want the book accurate Chinese cast with complicated Chinese names, you can watch the 30-episode Chinese version on Amazon.

This is what’s happening with shogun, which is currently the best show on television…no DEI nonsense.

For the record, I’m currently still enjoying 3 body problem so far, but I had to call out the casting and will always call out stuff that bothers me

Its only the first episode, and they've already royally fricked up the story from the books, including turning the cast into the United Colors of Benetton.

Actually, while it’s not popular in our current race-hyped stupid culture, I agree with you. I think movies should stay true to the books they were made from as far as casting. If this book was all Chinese, then the cast should be too. If the book was set in Harlem, then the cast should be black-if that was the way it was in the book. Anything else just seems stupid, disingenuous, and woke to me. It’s a turnoff to me wanting to see the movie.

I legitimately didn’t think about that all until you pointed it out. I feel like this probably says more about your thought process than anything else.
