The most ridiculous argument ever. If a business needs $20 inspection stickers to survive, they don’t need to be in business. AND citizens should not be required to pay for inspections purely to keep those businesses afloat.

It's come up 3 times in the last decade. Usually, a bunch of Boomers show up to the Capitol to complain about how it will "destroy" their shops and gets canned everytime.

No the last time it came up was last year I believe and the legislator tried raising registration fees to offset the funding from the MVI that goes towards the dept. of public safety (DOC, LSP, Fire Marshal etc) but didn’t do his research to know that the registration fees are set in law so that also had to be changed. Killed the bill right there.

Every time I talk to one of the owners of a shop that does inspections, they always whine that they barely clear expenses doing them. My response is, then why do it? That's usually when they stand there drooling through the 3 missing teeth in the front of their mouth.

I've been told the shops have to keep those bays open only for inspections only. Paying rent on that space can't be all that profitable.

As always, I could be wrong.
