The anti Phelan side seems well motivated. And Alicia Davis ran on an anti government tax and spend platform so hopefully a significant number of her voters will move to Covey.

I'm not a Texas resident but this race is very important in terms of weakening the Bush/Rove wing of the GOP. Dade Phelan is a cancer to the GOP.
