What about the objective measures? Like I said compare it to a 3rd world country, yes there are rich people and nice areas in all of them. But Louisiana is absolutely at the bottom when speaking of education, crime, corruption, poverty, incarceration, etc.

how the masses live has a minimal impact on my life. i've lived in cities in other states. yes, the dysfunction here might be worse than Dallas, for example, but it's still pretty bad over there.

Education - what you pay in taxes in Tx you could just pay for private school in La and the education there is better

Crime - there’s plenty of crime in Tx and they have issues just like La

Poverty - there’s poverty everywhere

Incarceration- not sure how this affects your day to day unless you’re a criminal

All of your metrics to why La is so awful are also issues elsewhere. You aren’t mentioning the COL difference and the over population that Tx deals with.
