Being from Louisiana is like being from a third world country.. you don't necessarily hate it and are proud of it in a way, especially with the cultural stuff that comes along with Louisiana. But let's get real, it's objectively terrible in almost every sense. If you were able to choose where to be born you would be crazy to choose Louisiana.

It is so unfortunate that you are right. The reasons are obvious. I wish deep in my heart that La. as a state will get better. The people deserve a better run state.

But let this be an "appreciation thread"

I travel all over for work and still choose to live here. I love living in the NOLA area and a walk uptown is one of my favorite things to do. We have all the entertainment and sporting we could want besides skiing and mountain climbing. I think this is a truly beautiful state.

Do we have issues? Of course. But some of you who believe everywhere else is perfect don’t live in the reality I’ve experienced.

people always repeat this on here but it's not really true in my opinion. i've lived in 4 states (one being Louisiana) and they're all more similar than not.
