Thank you all a ton for the replies. Def will pony up for a good experience. Sistine chapel has been on my bucket list a very long time so I want to enjoy it. From what I’ve read I can’t take pictures but I’m good with that. The long lost art of just being in a moment vs having a dumbass phone out needs to make a comeback. But it won’t.

If I remember correctly a few people in our group snagged a few quick pics inside the chapel without our guide seeing them. To this day I kick myself for not doing that, but on the other hand I can still remember standing there and soaking in all of the artwork- just being present in the moment.

Took my son a few years ago. He chipped in and got us a Private Tour Guide for the Vatican. That was well worth it.

That is the rule in the Sistine Chapel but people are taking pictures constantly. Every few minutes the guard will order that cameras be put away then they start coming out again 30 seconds later.
