Bloodborne First Playthrough

So I’m getting back into Bloodborne after a few months off. I’m decently making my way through the game and have a decent strength build:
30 vitality
23 endurance
29 strength
Should I level arcane or bloodtinge? My skill is at 13, is it even worth boosting that?

Do a full and complete bloodtinge build your second run on a full new game. It’s by far the most fun to play but requires skill and knowledge of the game since the first part will be insanely more difficult due to tinge not amounting to much until late. If you’re strength arcane won’t do much but low level hunter tools. I’ll link below an extremely in depth guide on how to be a vile blood utilizing the Evelyn and Chicage both blood pistols and katanas found at Cainhurst it’ll help a lot.
vileblood first time hunters guide
It’s extremely in depth and covers anything anyone will ever need. If you don’t prefer the chicake the Simons blood from the dlc is a bloodtinge weapon giving you a scimitar in one form and bow in the other
My Evelyn near max cranks 2000-2200 damage a show and pop an item boosting blood bullet damage 5k+
Btw just constructive criticism you have FAR too much stamina for your low blood level. You don’t need much and I’d not ever put another point in it forcing you to become more comfortable with low stamina. The two builds offered in that guide at BL 120 recommended only 25 2 above your current

Oh I didn’t catch your skill question. Outside of boosting weapons that scale with it which doesn’t apply to you skills real other purpose is increasing critical damage from gun parry. Probably works the same on any kind like backstabs.
Skill builds are fave “main build” since tinge is niche. You can get a free chalice code for cursed blades if mercy after BSB so you don’t need to kill The crow or finish her quest to get the 2nd best skill weapon in main game and the best weapon in the entire game is a sick arse katana at the tail end of the dlc that cranks damage scaling S to skill C to strength I think and if I remember right even C to arcane

I know you’re all hate downvoting but all of this is grade A advice. How about a bet prove me wrong about one thing said about perhaps those two weapons being top in main game/dlc for basic runs I’ll not post for 3 months. No one does I get to pick one person to not same time limit. Cowards?
As I thought a punch of pussies. Clear who you should head advice from Op

Great game. Did my second play through and first DLC run a few months ago

You actually are kind of wrong about some of it, but its a game build and therefore subjective, so its not that big of a deal
OP, your stamina is fine. You don't have to min/max everything on your first character. Learn how souls games work..... get used to the weird timing on swings that enemies have. You're going to get hit, the extra stamina that might let you survive something that would otherwise kill you is fine. Sprinkle it in while you work on other stats until you hit 35-40 late game.
Some weapons just gel better with certain players than others. Find something you like, and look up a specific build for that weapon. Try different ones. Just keep in mind that a certain weapon might feel worse than it is damage wise because you aren't specced out for it. You want to be looking at how much you like the moveset more than anything. Once you decide, then stat out based on the weapon. During future playthroughs you can really try to get everything just so in terms of build, but don't worry about it right now.
Whenever you get Gasciogne's set I'd use that for a while. Its nice not having to be quite as concerned with poison as a newer player.
Source: My first Souls-like was BB and I've since 100% completed pretty much all of the From software games and other similar titles.
ETA: Also, don't put too much more in endurance.

How dare you claim professor TD is wrong about any of it. He has published many scholarly articles on RPGs of all kinds. And while action RPGs are not his forte, he is more learned than anyone else here. Now we all know that square rpgs are his focus, but it is truly amazing he has the time to satisfy his gf until 4 am in the morning in between getting platinum trophies for every square title in 48 hours of release while teaching doctorate courses

Bloodborne is the only FromSoft game (talking about base games for the sake of this comment...not including any DLCs) that I started but didn't finish. I'd say I probably finished about 75% of it but for some reason stopped. This was a couple of years ago. I think it was the chalice dungeons and that extra layer of stuff that threw me off for whatever reason. I'm sure it's easy to grasp but I didn't really try. Now I kinda want to get back into it but will need to start a fresh playthrough.

Just get Ludwigs Greatsword and level up strength
Posted on 3/4/24 at 3:35 pm to td01241
Thanks guys. I’m using Ludwig’s Holy Blade at +6, just for reference. My question was more towards, is it worth pumping up any of the other stats along the way, or just keep going with pure strength. Didn’t know if there were any advantages to it later in the game. Just clapped Darkbeast Paarl’s cheeks and heading into the woods.

I would really just upgrade strength and stamina if that isn't past 30 yet. That with fire/lightning paper made fights relatively more easy for me. I would start doing some dungeons if I were you to grind echos.

I’m going to have to read up on the dungeons. I thought it was best to stay away until late game or NG+?
Posted on 3/4/24 at 3:57 pm to lsuguy84
Nah you can go through them now. There are the randomly generated series of chalice dungeons that change every time and then there’s the series that always stay the same. Google or someone else can provide you with the names because I forget.
I think on reddit there are spreadsheets for all different types of the random ones that people have figured out at this point. Some that you can just stand there and gain echoes with no gameplay involved

Here's a Reddit page with some really good FAQs about dungeons: Reddit. The only spoilers there are that the post tells you which bosses in the main game drop certain chalices needed for dungeons. So you may want to avoid it if you're concerned with seeing boss names.
Here's a dungeon flowchart that's really helpful in understanding how the different types of dungeons and depths work (but it contains spoilers about bosses you may find in certain dungeons): Flow Chart. This flow chart will help if you're trying to 100% the game.

I would not wait that long otherwise you're going to be significantly overpowered for the early dungeons.

Thanks, I’m taking a deep dive on this tonight.
These boss battles are amazing. They’re absolutely incredible. The whole tone of the game is just second to none. Most of the bosses have taken me about two or three attempts, which is about normal for From bosses.

It’s my 2nd favorite from soft game. Right behind elden ring and pretty close. Bloodborne is just dark and honestly pretty creepy if your playing and drinking a bit lol..

I didn’t create the build nor the long bloodtinge descriptions and move sets. It’s an old Reddit write up for the Bloodbourne sub and no I’m not wrong about stamina it’s a complete waste above 25 and that should be at Bl 120 maybe a bit more for PvP. You just don’t need it as much and refills insanely fast. You can easily beat the game with 15 stamina. Nothing else you posted I was wrong about (or those guides were) and the maker was the number 1 bloodtinge worldwide for 6 years I’ll trust him.
It is insanely unlikely he will get to Bl 120 wihout doing root chalices and going the bottom secret boss, which is a LONG TIME OF EFFORT. Luckily for him strength doesn’t need much but could’ve gotten cheap hunter tools or skill for crits.
Most bosses (big) you never wanna be off there leg save a few don’t need too much stamina and humans you parry

So you're supposed to be super knowledgeable about this, call other people out daring them to call you wrong, and then come to find out your 'knowledge' is just copy from a reddit post?
Posted on 3/9/24 at 5:59 pm to VolSquatch
Yes, shocking I didn’t build the very best possible blood tinge build in all of Bloodbourne, that surely disqualifies me from having any knowledge of the game completely. In fact in applies to you and everyone else on thin board. Retard
