So why did we have permit laws in the first place? You can still own a firearm nobody is denying you that right. But I don’t think it’s an insane idea that people take a course/class so they know how to properly use it.

It’s not an insane premise. At all.
I am all for people being trained to operate firearms.

The issue is that once you start trying to regulate a right, you’ve already lost the plot.

Shall not be infringed. Period.

The same permit laws having massive issues in courts, and getting stuck down?

Also, the "well it was done like this before" argument is trash. Our nation has plenty of deep shite in its past that was required and/or legal.

I would encourage everyone to take classes, hell I'm looking into taking advanced classes before I carry concealed, but honest law abiding citizens should not be denied their rights.

In a world where everyone were law abiding citizens this may be a good idea. Some people don’t go to gun stores to purchase firearms.
