re: I won’t judge, just curious, anybody here forked out for one of those STX ranch whitetails

I went to one in north Texas last year. The free range ranch I wanted to go back to in east Texas didn’t have an opening and the lead guide quit so the alcoholic owner is running it now. Also, went to the king ranch and shot an nilgai which is free range but my wife didn’t like the meat so didn’t wanna go back there to hear her bitch for another year about the taste of the meat. Anyhow, the two guys I was going with needed a quick trip due to work/kids schedules so a Montana or western Texas hunt were out. Booked this place, drove in Friday, hunted Friday, Saturday, left Sunday am. Home to watch daughters Christmas play Sunday pm. Really just paid for convenience. Also, went to shoot axis but didn’t see a shooter. The ranch is 3000 acres high fence and half of it is very thick forest. So at the last minute I shot a 165” whitetail.
