Don't really know how they came across as me trying to be a badass. One could just objectively get a better view of ones actual strength with a little bit higher weight, bc at some point it becomes more about muscular endurance than strength with reps that high. Also most of these guys are fast twitch and strong as hell, I say let them choose the weight they want to use to best show their strength.

You just answered your own question. This is a better athletic metric than pure strength.
