The administration has no possible way to prevent the unknown movement of undocumented migrants. That has happened forever and will continue.

Biden could shut down the border with a stroke of a pen right now if he wanted to. That’s what needs to be done until we can get this under control.

The issue is that US law allows immediate pleas of asylum at the border and also authorizes the legal admission of all asylum seekers with work permits.

At ports of entry only. Biden has allowed people to claim asylum wherever they cross. Trump actually did something to slow down the migration problem with his remain in Mexico policy. Stats back that up. Biden undid that day one he was in office.

US law does not provide for “shut the border.” US law does not restrict asylum claims just to ports of entry. Those were Trump policies that were not in compliance with US law.

You are so brainwashed that presidents can ignore the law that you don’t even understand the problems with the law. The current administration spent months negotiating with Congress to change the law, but republicans have blocked the changes, claiming that no one has to actually comply with the law because Trump doesn’t care about law.

If you think “shut down the border” or “remain in Mexico” or “only ports of entry” are actually provided for in US law, please feel free to quote the law.
