The issue with the current immigration law is not people who sneak across or who are smuggled across. That can’t be hung on the administration or the law. The issue is that US law allows immediate pleas of asylum at the border and also authorizes the legal admission of all asylum seekers with work permits. That is the US law that is being gamed and that needs to change. The administration has no possible way to prevent the unknown movement of undocumented migrants. That has happened forever and will continue.

I rarely agree with you politically but this is 100% correct.
People moving across the border under the cover of night is always an issue. It was under Trump and will be until there’s a wall 50 feet in the air and 30 feet down and 10 miles into the Pacific and Gulf of Mexico.
And even then people will find a way.
The issue is that people claim asylum (from what?) and get free passes.

Biden could shut down the border with a stroke of a pen right now if he wanted to. That’s what needs to be done until we can get this under control.

At ports of entry only. Biden has allowed people to claim asylum wherever they cross. Trump actually did something to slow down the migration problem with his remain in Mexico policy. Stats back that up. Biden undid that day one he was in office.
