So all the places where shootings happen.
Imo the constitution didn’t say anything about where you could bear arms. If you kill someone in one of those places it should be up to a jury to decide your fate.

One of, if not the only good thing about the permit system is that you should learn the laws in the class. Those restrictions still exist and are possibly more complicated. For instance, here in Texas, there are now 4 signs.
-Notice 30.05 says no firearms or illegal weapons. It does not necessarily have to be a specific language that references the statute, so it's quite vague. But permit holders don't have to listen to this sign. It doesn't have to say that on the sign and there's a good chance the person who put it up doesn't even fully understand that point. So be ready to deal with that if you do somehow get caught by an owner.
-Notice 30.06 says no concealed carry of firearms with a permit. It must have the official language. Technically, it doesn't restrict constitutional carry. But again, I doubt the business understands it that way.
-Notice 30.07 says no open carry. It must have the offical language.
-51% sign is for a business that derives 50% of it's revenue from alcohol sales for on premise consumption.
Schools, Federal Buildings, etc. are all still off limits. Some are required to show a sign, some aren't. There are tons of signs that no longer carry any legal weight. For instance, many convenient stores have a "$10,000 fine for unlicensed carry from Texas Alcohol Beverage Commision". It's a completely meaningless sign now that there's constitutional carry. But there's no way to know that without education.
I don't think you need a class or permit to carry, but I highly suggest doing your research and staying up to date with the laws. There are quite a few youtube videos to explain the TX laws. Hopefully some law firms do it for LA too. I spend a lot of time there as well, and although I'm licensed, it's good to understand the new implications.
