I assume 'greatest" is not the most watched. Because that is easy. It's the FIFA World Cup and there is nothing close.
One of the most impactful was the Game of the Century between #1 UCLA and #2 UH in the Astrodome. March Madness doesn't happen without that game.

that basketball game looks like a miserable experience.
Glad they finally started to bring in portable bleachers into these football stadiums as to not look like a wasteland

world wide, probably right.
but if we talking just in the US, then there isn't a single World Cup game anywhere in the top 10.
