For what it's worth, I saw a text from Jacoby Matthews today.

My nephew played football with him at ponchatoula, they were texting about the portal. He said he was transferring to Oregon. The SEC is out because of the rule. There you go.

A person pretty well connected on a premium board said even if the rule wasnt in place we were not interested, so take that for what it's worth.

Dont know if thats because they dont like the way he is leaving A&M or he is just wanting a huge pay day but that's the way it was put.

Best of luck to the kid. But I’m here to watch A&M burn.

I’ve read that several times on this board. If I remember right, there was a rumor that Matthews didn’t make a good impression on BK during his initial recruitment. Supposedly, LSU had the funds to match Aggy’s offer but BK said no.
This kid will never wear the purple and gold.

They are. Oregon is built for the NIL and portal era and they got a young defensive head coach that learned from Kirby and Saban. If you're not paying attention to the way they are building their team, you'll be surprised when you see them hanging with the top teams.

Amazing to see how that 'historic' TAM recruiting class has panned out....

I remember somebody posted that he was late for his one on one meeting with Brian Kelly Sunday morning on his recruiting visit and Kelly wasn’t happy. That was after he told Trey Palmer and Dwight McGlothern to leave for being late for team meetings

Aggie might be purging their debt load.

Elko starting back over.

Like he said, they’ve been saying this for the past 20 years now about Oregon.

So Oregon is going to get a guy that has contributed absolutely nothing at A&M in two years and all of a sudden they are going to be a force? Lmao

Yall have to be kidding me right? Oregon has went to the national championship game twice in the early 2010s. They were literally a field goal away from winning one. Cristobal comes in a builds a talented group that, within the second year of a new young head coach, they almost win the conference making their way to the playoff. All it took was a few portal pieces and leftovers from Cristobal's haul. They will undoubtedly be in the playoffs again this season, and not a low bid either.

Sometimes I'm reminded that a lot of you follow LSU, maybe some SEC, and recruiting, and call it a day.
