Jim Carey was trolling. Jimmy wasn't in any panic he was laughing at you., not doing truth in humor.

When Jim (or anyone else for that matter) says seriously legit things but in a joking, ha-ha manner with overly exaggerated facial expressions, hand gestures, etc... it comes off as "That Jim Carey, he's a laugh riot!".
But he's not joking.
John Stewart et all are masters at the eye roll, the raised brow, the inflection of his voice, but Kimmel is a bonafide moron.
I'm fully convinced that Jimmy was given a choice. Fall in line, do what you're told, take the money, or get kicked to the curb, never to work in Hollywood ever again.
See, Jimmy screwed up bigly in his youth. The blackface (Karl Malone) bits, 'What's in my pocket!' gags with barely legal coeds, and that was just stuff done on camera!
