If you enjoyed these games in the early/mid-2000’s, then you’ll be excited for this news.

Grab your gear and your controller, soldiers. It’s time to return to the battlefront.

During today’s Nintendo Direct, Aspyr and Lucasfilm Games revealed Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection, which will see the beloved Star Wars Battlefront (2004) and Star Wars Battlefront II (2005) introduced to a new generation. Coming March 14 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation5, PlayStation4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam for $35.01, Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection features restored online play for up to 64 players, expansions to Hero Assault mode, and all previously released bonus content for both titles. Steam users will also enjoy Steam Deck support.

Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection includes a galaxy of content inspired by the original and prequel trilogies, from famous battles across Episodes I-VI, to playable heroes and villains like Asajj Ventress, Darth Vader, and more, to unique modes and challenges. See below for a full breakdown of what to look forward, including previously console-exclusive extras now included on all platforms:

Are they re-mastering at all or just relaunching it?

These were such good games. If they just updated the graphics and added new features they could make a killing on this game.

I never played the originals, though I did play both of the newer games that came out in the last decade or so. Those titles seemed to get killed in the gaming community. For someone who hasn't played the originals, what is it about those games that make them so much better than the reboots that came out recently?

I probably have more hours in this game than any other from when I was a kid

That being said, I have the original games downloaded on Xbox Series X now. A slight graphics update and adding Kit Fisto isn’t gonna convince me to drop the $50-60 im sure they are asking for. I’ll just play the OG.

I have it on Steam and on my original Xbox, but I will certainly be getting in for the Switch.

The Rise of the Empire Campaign in BFII is missing the post-mission cutscenes.

These games were awesome. Played these for hours. The one mode where you picked Rebels or Empire and had to conquer the galaxy on a world by world situation was a lot of fun.
