Dutton and Hellmers will be the punt team. They've both had some success, so I'm sure Jay will keep giving them looks for other roles. But, we have so many really good arms. Bucknam probably falls into this same category.
They serve a purpose. And, we've seen times where the punt team came in, held serve, and the game took a turn in the right direction.
And, I'm not saying these guys are bad. Dutton was a weekend starter at one time. Hellmers has changed his mound location and is creating a really tough angle for hitters once he gets more used to - he was a weekday starter at one time. And, Bucknam was a nice recruit and has had some nice outings coming into the season.
ETA: Good news is their RH, so they're in the minority. This is their way in. I'm ready to see Noot.

Definitely a place for guys like that to be productive for the team. Being RH helps since as of now it seems Ulloa and Guidry are the only bullpen guys they will depend on high leverage.
Hopefully Moffet, Little, and Woods can join them. I don't understand the drop in velo in Woods though. I thought he was supposed to be upper 90s guy and he was 90-91 over the weekend.
Can't wait to see what Noot can bring the team this season. Will all depend how he feels and how rusty he is when he makes the progression in his rehab enough to get back to throwing in game.

Still a ways to go before you get to them but perhaps could bounce one of these guys just due to strike throwing alone
Ulloa
Guidry
Woods
Little
Moffett

Agreed.

That is more of a testament to how bad Mainieri was letting it get, rather than a testament to how good they are honestly.
