If his daughter isn't speaking to him because some guy told her he had pot on his table, then he failed her long before 8 years ago.
What kind of childhood did she have to cause such a drastic response to a bag of weed? How damaged was their relationship that she refuses to take him at his word when he says it's not true?
Introspection is needed in this situation, not anger directed at another person.
