Agreed. I think we will see a similar offense as the 2019 offense. Not in numbers but in scheme or design. While he can’t scramble like JD could, he can sure hand the ball off and can get similar yards as Burrow did. I think he’s just as fast and athletic as Burrow was. He just needs to make the quick decisions like Burrow did. That’s what made Burrow so darn good, he made quick decisions and he wasn’t afraid to get 5 or 6 yards with a quick pass underneath or run the ball for positive yards.

A mix of spread and pro style with some pistol formations would work really nicely with our current personnel. We will have 2-3 legit TEs to both block and run routes as well this year. It will be extremely tough to defend this offense near the red zone with a 2-3 TE set.

Come to the line bunched up with 3 TEs and then spread it out and hike the ball quickly. Those defenders will be so confused and if they aren’t prepared we’ll have two or three guys wide open. I would also bring back that double move from 2019 in the RZ area. Where our big 6’4” WR would start running inside then break to the outside with everyone bunched up. That’s so hard to defend. Run that on the left side and then run a pick play on the right side with a TE coming open.

All of our TEs are 6’6” or taller and have extremely big/ strong hands. Pimpton 6’6” 230lbs, Taylor 6’5” 245lbs and the new freshman 5* 6’7” 240lb TE/WR Mr. Trey’Dez Green. That’s huge targets and all have great ball skills. I’d be practicing throwing the ball up to all of them and letting them go get it. On huge 3rd down plays and especially RZ plays. I’d also practice it on huge 1st down plays to get chunks of yards. We should have a well balanced team this year.

That OL will be dominant. Only issue I really see is the DL and depth there. LB should be good to go. I think the secondary will improve dramatically. But we HAVE to find at least 3 DLman to help that area of the defense. If we can provide a really good run stopping DL with some pass rush from either the scheme or the players then this team will dramatically improve. Not worried about the offense at all. We have the right coach to get it done. I’m pumped to see what they do.
