i havent seen any clips of him this year and his numbers arent freakish or anything. What has he done to impress rivals so much especially since he was playing QB this year. Anybody got any clips?

Also he hasn't committed. I have no doubt that Rivals likes uncommitted #1 prospects. It creates excitement.

BINGO!!!!

He is the best uncommitted prospect and that is a lot of what Rivals considers when picking #1.

yes but he is also deserving, playing qb just showed how athletic he really is. they already knew he was a great wr.

Also FWIW I'm not bashing RR. He is as deserving of #1 as basically anyone else out there, but I do think that plays into their decision making.

Because he's going to Bama

Had to get that out of the way.

maybe being uncomitted helps but i disagree in this case bc if barkley would have had a great year he would still be no.1

If Russel Shepard was uncommited he would be #1 no doubt about it. Rivals is all about making money, and by having an uncommitted great player #1 there is more interest in their site.

Maybe so since there was a precedent for him to be #1, but do you not think that after they decided to move Barkley down that they didn't look at who was uncommitted?

Pryor last year was a late commit

Exactly. Being uncommitted, quiet about his recruitment. Everything about it leads to people being interesting in any info about him.

The mere mention of Alabama next to his name gets a one star bump.
