In a court, sure, but if he's found not guilty, there's still the court of public opinion. Although it's very difficult to prove you didn't do something, he'll always be guilty to some people regardless. Maybe that's what he's talking about

How is this not how it's supposed to work? Innocent until proven guilty. It's the entire basis of our judicial system and a basic foundation principle of our republic. How is this not how it's supposed to work?

Yep, but too many folks these days believe it's their job to prove innocence and not the state's job to prove guilt.

While that is true in court, it has never been true in the court of public opinion. Unfortunately, in many cases.

I hope the full truth comes out, whatever it is. I also hope it is what he says. I know it is not realistic to be able to judge a person's character by press conferences and such but he comes across as a genuinely great guy in those.

Unfortunately, the internet age killed this for public figures. While some of us will wait to see what evidence was against people, some just let the headline dictate their opinions on the matter.
