I live here. Just north of town past Furman near Paris Mtn State Park. You’re in a great spot. Halls chop house has phenomenal steaks and a great bar area. Jianna’s across the street has great Italian food and hand made pasta. Up on the roof (rooftop bar in your hotel is good depending on weather). The Grand Bohemian hotel has good food and bar areas. Trappe Door is really good. There are also tons of spots on Main Street you can pop in and try something. Mac’s speed shop has amazing wings and good vibe.
Downtown travelers rest has some good spots as well. Chicora Ally (amazing neighborhood local bar/restaurant vibe) for brunch is really good. Their shrimp and goat cheese quesadilla is ungodly. Their brussel sprouts too.
I’m from La and have lived all over the country after college. I moved here for work 5 years ago. Met my wife, bought some land, and built a house. We love it. Best place I’ve ever lived.

Chicora alley is also downtown. Tons of great suggestions here. Sobys is good and I think the best place in an old downtown is The Anchorage
Methodical coffee is my favorite coffee spot.
You could walk the swamp rabbit trail up to the swamp rabbit cafe for lunch one day.
I would definitely grab a hike one day. Downtown is incredible but not super big so unless you are taking it really slow you may want a half day somewhere else

Thanks for the great recommendations. Exactly what I was looking for to get a head start. We always walk a ton around and would probably find a few of these on our own, but I didn't want to miss a great place accidentally. Hopefully some good weather and plenty of time to just take a breath and get through the rest of Winter with this break.

Perceived Realty I would like to pick your brain a bit about the area if you are good with it. Please shoot me an email if so
