Maybe it's because the east Texas dialect is thought to be the closest to how Shakespeare talked.

Texas was enjoyable back when housing was cheap. Now the ugly brown/gray cookie cutter houses have gotten wayyy overpriced and the state has lost a lot of its luster. The Carolinas/Tennessee are way better.
