Red Oaks Elementary Raider in the house. Left in 1978 as my father was transfered to a refinery in California.
My father moved back after he retired to Red Oaks until he passed away.
Had relatives that lived in Monticello and moved out 1982 to Central.
I remember when Greenwell Springs Marine was a boat dealer on one side and a small tackle store on the other. Nephew bought a challenger boat with 50hp mercury for a very good price from that place.
Then always had Jerry Lees, TG&Y, flooded and that shopping center never came back.
They even had a well organized neighborhood association where people organized to put Xmas lights up.
