So? Chinese products are junk. If I’m paying $20 for something, I don’t care. No way in hell am I buying a Chinese auto. Japan and S. Korea? That’s a different story.

South Korea is still iffy at times.
Hyundai is somewhat comparable in quality to Toyota or Honda in build but I refused to buy one when I got my last car because of the various flaws making them easier to steal.
Current gen supposedly has that fixed but I am not hopeful that they are forward thinking about the next potential “KiaBoyz” theft idea and how to block it.

The people who want EVs don’t want cheap EVs. That is why so many are unsold now. No one wants to replace a cheap battery bank in 5-6 years that costs half of the original car price.
