Here's a gentle reminder that, of all our regular rotation players, Hawk has the worst +/-. The reason that Willie doesn't play him is that we lose his minutes. This is because Hawk's defense is still very much a work in progress.
I've still yet to see an explanation then why we inserted him into the rotation in January then pulled him from the rotation afyrt a January where he played extremely well and won his minutes.

We got fully healthy, he came in for 2-3 games and missed a couple of 3s and rotations, Willie didn't give him any consistent run, and now he looks broken.

The fact that Hawk hasn't built up enough rep to earn the benefit of the doubt is mind boggling. He's a good rebounding guard and plays smart offensive basketball. His shot selection is so fricking advanced. We have like 2 dudes who can shoot 3s off the dribble well, and he's one of them.

Just crazy shite from Willie.

There may be some good reasons (as others have pointed out) for why Hawkins has such a poor +/-, but I can understand why Green is reluctant to play him, especially over Jose who wins his minutes. However, isn’t it also fair to ask why we stick with a starting unit that ranks so poorly using the same metric?
