Not complaining, but this is definitely different than in the past.

Last year it was because of extreme cold.

But JJ said he thinks opening day should be an early start every year.

At least this year we knew in advance.

I assume, for whatever reason, they are doing it the way JJ prefers.

He seems to have a reason for everything he does.

Because Jay wants it that way. Expect it to be this way the first weeks of the season in future years.

CJJ said he is looking out after LSU. Early starts gives him flexibility for LSU to play every game this 4 day weekend if weather becomes a factor.

He explained in a press conference yesterday that he set it up like this because this year he has 2 different teams coming in and they have 2 games per day. He put LSU the early games to make sure even if the weather is an issue they get in all their games.

I also think he would rather have his pitchers throwing during the warmest part of the day vs a night game where temps can get into the 40s and maybe even 30s at this time of the year.

As said, everything he does is scripted as is for a reason. This seems to be a schedule deal to get in games and also a safety precaution for pitchers.

Jay would rather play in front of 1800 people instead of 8,000.

I’m not talking about opening day, plenty of people will take off of work for that one. Let’s see what the actual attendance looks like on Monday against Central Arkansas and Thursday against Northern Illinois.

Let CJJ work, we'll benefit at the end of the season.

A lot of games in the SECT and Omaha are played during the day in addition to night games. Think Coach is just trying to get them ready

Because JJ said so, and we do what he says since he seems to have a great reason for just about every decision made.

Remember that Kentucky game in the Regional where he called his only rain delay even though it was sunny and we didn’t play until 9pm?
