Living here that entire time, the holdbacks are usually 3-4% of the total class…if that honestly. The most I remember in the hay day of holdbacks was 22 and that was in the 90s. It’s been much less prevalent since the rule changed to you must hold back prior to 6th grade. Now that it changed again, we will have to see where it goes from here.

so how did this start?

Did the parents get together to do it? Did Shows originally approach the town and tell people this is what we need to do?

I’m truly curious how it starts

Yea used to be a big deal, for over a decade I haven’t seen it mentioned except on here with people whining every year in the baseball thread.
