We have our awesome district tourney starting Tuesday against 6 win Hammond. As of today we are up to 5. If we can win out we can stay in top 8 and get a bye.

Not a fan of the tourney from
What I understand they have the same travel game rules as state tourney so we are the 1 seed and may have to play away in second round depends on what happens in St. Paul’s v ponchatoula on Monday. Which is stupid because all schools are 60 min or less from each other.

Brother Martin beat Rummel last night. Darrah, who had previously pitched 3 innings, threw a 3 hitter to beat Arencibia. They play again Tuesday.

Only like a half game separates BM, Rummel, and Curtis for the district title.

Playing 2 rounds of district is no longer the norm. Too many teams hurt you power point wise to play 2 rounds.
Won’t find out next years format until the district meeting at the end of the year. I haven’t heard any rumblings yet on what they will do.

Meh depends on the district. The Northshore districts next year will probably be fine, but three game series will be better

This crap tourney uses the same travel rule as state. We are the 1 seed and if we win the first game and ponchatoula beats St Paul’s in 4/5 seed game we have to play at ponchatoula in the second game it’s bullshite

New state rule is high seed home always.

this is from the current 23-24 handbook

A. In the sports of baseball, football, soccer and softball in all classes/divisions:
1. Any team that drew a bye in the first round shall be the home team.
2. The team that traveled in the first round shall be the home team.
3. If both teams traveled or were home teams in the first round, the higher seeded team shall be the
home team.
B. In the sport of volleyball and basketball the higher seeded team shall be the home team.
3. Quarterfinal Round of Play (If played on a home-away basis)
A. The team that has traveled more in the first and second rounds shall be the home team.
B. If both teams have traveled the same number of times in the first and second rounds, the higher seeded
team shall be the home team.
C. In the sports of basketball, and soccer, and softball, the higher seeded team shall be the home team.
4. Semifinal Round of Play (If played on a home-away basis) - the higher seeded team shall be the hometeam.
5. At the state championships (in all applicable rounds of play) - the higher seeded team shall be the home team.
6. Opposing schools may, by mutual agreement, reverse a game site. A reversal of the home/away site for any
reason shall not affect the criteria cited in the above bylaws.

99% of the time… the only times left a lower seed may still host is in a few specific matchups in Nonselect football in the second round

With power ratings in every sport and quarterfinals and semifinals in all sports all being the highest seed hosting, and all the byes now in the first rounds, most of the old LHSAA people knew has been turned on its head

Let's use Barbe for an example. They'll have a first round bye. Second round they're guaranteed to host. Third round is the last round before state, so they're guaranteed to host. Then you're at state.

Landon Victorian

quote:

After a fourth hearing, the matter was moved up to the 14th Judicial Court, where judge Robert Wyatt upheld the school board’s decision.

But Clemons believes Victorian did not deserve such punishment.

“He has been punished more than enough; he’s a very nice young man, he has a potential career in the big leagues but more importantly, he’s just a very good young man,” said Clemons.

Calcasieu Parish superintendent Shannon LaFargue stands by his expulsion.

Victorian was one of the highest-ranked baseball players in the country. His attorney says he still plans to attend LSU this fall and play for the Tigers.
