Who are the top high school baseball coaches in the State?

Cechinni at Barbe obviously and I'm biased, but Frankie Cazeaux at Rummel. I Coached Kenny Goodlet of Jesuit who has had success. Catholic's coach has to be up there. I've always admired Burke Broussard as well, but I think he's retired.
Glen Cechinni at Barbe
Chad Hebert at Sam Houston
Jeremy Deville at South Beau
are all really good and built programs in SWLA and Stayed the program
Wade Simoneaux of WM
Ty Rollinson at Oak Grove
Brad Bass at catholic
have done extremely well and built or maintained power programs
Kenny Goodlet has done very well at Jesuit
Chad Menard at Vc
JC Holt at Pitkin
Jesse Cassard has killed it at live oak
Matt Fontenot left St Louis and he prolly would have been considered top 5. Wayne Stein at SCC stepping down was a big deal too
Guy Simmons was one of the best coaches of the 90s but has been in the small College ranks for last 25 years but retired and took the job at Hamilton last year. I dont expect much as Hamilton doesnt get the talent in baseball usually that the other schools in swla do but he is a top coach.
Brooks Badeaux has done well at Tuerlings
Daniel Hennigan has done well at Iowa
Jordan Marks at Menard has done well
Mark Sims at Sterlington
Frank Cazeaux at rummel
Jeff Curtis at JC Curtis has done well
Brandon Bravata has done well at St Amant
Chris Schexnaydre of dutchtown
off the top of my head thats the best one. Im sure i missed some for sure. in fact i know i did for the Shreveport, North shore areas for sure.

Heard St. Paul is already looking for a coach for next year. Anyone know the story?
Posted on 2/22/24 at 10:11 am to MikeHoncho47
Nola had a story on it. Coach is moving into an administrative position at the school next year.

Brady Benoit at Mandeville has made a huge difference so far . Big time Culture change and really good coaches on staff. We will see how this year goes.

A coach is only as good as his players, especially in high school.
Cecchini at Barbe had a freshman mowing down varsity competition in first career start. You telling me that makes him a good coach or his players are just that talented?

My comment was based off seeing the same players with different coaches from last year to this year and being around the program. Brady Benoit is a really good coach. And he surrounded himself with excellent assistants was comparing them to Barbe who gets all the good players because it’s Barbe.

was there in the 2000s. I don’t think it happened because I would have heard something about it

you are right but what you are missing is Lawton has added about 7-8mph to his peak since he got there and is sitting 4-5 mph faster. Also added quite a bit of weight to him and developed a slider he can throw in the zone and get very high % of whiffs
so yall auto see a kid coming in an dominating. Tons of work went into that
dont get me wrong Barbe gets talent...but the whole parish is only 200k people total. That has to support Barbe, Sam Houston, sulphur, st louis, iowa, dequency and westlake...not to mention couple other schools.
the metro is only 250 if you include 5 parish area and that has to support south beau, kinder, grandlake etc
aint like we are talking a population the size of baton rouge or even like what STM can pull from

im in this boat. LG hs, SJ for middle
District lines obviously have changed over the years, used the the exact opposite… you could be in Barbe district, but not in SJ.

Plenty of coaches are gifted with pipelines of kids.. lake Charles is tricky bc of all the quality programs in the area
Glen Cechinni is as good as any in developing kids in high school where many programs these days farm out the development to summer programs and private coaches.
I always thought chad Hebert did a really good job in trying to develop kids starting at young age. Probably difficult for him to watch some of those kids go to Barbe and kinder amongst the gold mine of LC programs.
Bravata is someone I think will continue to do really good things as well
Some coaches are no more than collectors of talent these days.. they usually crash and burn in the later rounds of the playoffs.

agreed. south beau is who steals from chad now a days and chad steals from barbe to an extent.
the LC kids usually play less overall games when younger than rest of state but they usually practice more and take more private lessons and usually start lifting earlier too. all you have to do is walk in to dbat and look at the amount training with ricardo or go to maximum kinetics and see how many are training with jeff seid and then you also have a bunch training at the unique fitness place. not uncommon to see the high level travel kids training at 7 or 8
chad does a great job, very very organized.

Are any of the West Monroe @ Catholic games this weekend streaming anywhere?
I don't see it on the NFHS Network Louisiana Baseball page
There are 14 other varsity, JV, and freshmen, games listed for today.
West Monroe's Max Preps page shows games tonight, Friday & Sat.

They should win every single gear? You realize the LC metro area which is the whole parish has 200k people? They have to share those kids with Sulphur, Sam Houston, St. Louis, Westlake, Iowa and south beau?
Do you really believe that the families of these "transfer" kids are not coached as to where they need to live to play at Barbe?

what transfer kids?
you have 1 that came in after mother finished military
the littleton kid moved from sulphur before HS
which transfer kid are you talking about?
99% of this senior class was on the slc all star team that played in regional finals at 12.
99% of barbes team is home grown. you might get 1 transfer a year.
And of course if some one is moving to LC they are going to want to be in barbe district, it’s the best public by far in LC
But if barbe gets whomever they want, like many of you think, then how come so many other schools in the area have kids that could easily start at barbe?
And how are all those schools I named so damn good for their class too?

Excellent baseball coach. Knows crap about the game that most guys haven't even thought about. He probably sh*ts baseballs.
That said, he is an even better recruiter!

There are a suspicious amount of kids "transferring" in from east Texas year after year. No they don't bring them in as Jr/Sr's. They bring them in early. If you don't see it, you're blinded in one way or another.

Name 1 kid on the roster from east Texas please. Please
You have no clue wtf you are talking about. Zero
ETA I’m not blinded, I don’t have kids there and didn’t play there. You are blinded by bais and you do realize both east Texas and swla are industrial towns where workers switch between plants often for more money right?
