Columbia House and BMG are why I have most of my ridiculously huge CD collection. If you paid attention you almost never paid full price and if you did you could use coupons to get more freebies. I bet for every 1 I paid full price for I would get at least 2 for free.

Hell you never had to pay a dime for the things after the penny the first order cost...all you had to do was send another penny and the stupid bastards would send you 10 - 12 more, whatever the deal was at the time. Everybody I knew as a kid did it time and time and time again. They'd send you all kinds of nasty letters threatening all manner of ill shite but what were they going to do to a 13 year old kid, sue them? Garnish their wages? Tell your parents? I know full well what my Dad would have told them..."y'all ought not to have sent them to him. He ain't got a job, has no money and y'all ought to have known better. What kind of moron sends a 13 year old 10 albums for a penny?".

I remember my mom talking with the Fuller Brush salesman. I was amazed at the big selection of brushes in his suitcase. He had a brush for every need.
