He has looked good in the 1A state championship game the past two years. Is there a chance he gets an offer from a D1 school?

there is concern with his size and the competition he played against. will probably end up at mcneese.

Understandable.
However, players that moved on after Katrina fared well.
Blake Matherne ( current Belle Chasse QB)
Randall Mackey JUCO (Bastrop QB for multiple state championships)
Trent Mackey Duke (former Carencro/Port Sulphur LB)
Rocky Duplessis ? (LSU Signee?)
and a few other players. Of course I understand they are playing in a smaller classificaton but I think the kid is good enough.

Ridge Turner is a football player. For one, he is one heck of an athlete and he has some killer speed. He is undersized, but his heart and determination make up for it. Watching him in the title game, this kid just refused to go down, he game it everything on each play and it showed. Forget his size. Any DI school would be doing themselves a favor by giving this kid a shot.

This kid can play D1. Everyone seems to forget he led SP to win over 5A Hahnville and also performed well against 4A Helen Cox. He is at least 6' and 175-180 and can also play CB, WR, returns punts and covers kickoffs. If he had qualifying scores the D1s would be calling. I think he is going to Nichols.

I wish I could've seen him against a good team. Can't judge much against CLA. South Plaq picked up a 4th and 23 with 5'3" 115lbs. 7th graders in the game.

Ridge had "FLA" under his eyes in the Dome on Sunday

What I want to know is the name of #3 for SP, only a sophomore, but I promise you he will be playing D-1.

Bradley Sylve, he's also awesome in track.

He looks like a legit 4.4 guy to me. He is a gamebreaker.

I googled his times, he ran a 10.60 in the 100 as a freshman I believe.

I understand you guys are impressed with Ridge and how he dominated in Class 1A. Let's be realistic though. Do you think he would have been successful against John Curtis' defense? Or Destrehan's defense? In Division I, he would face defenses that are about 10 X more talented than John Curtis and Desty. I don't think you guys realize how big and fast D-I players are until you are standing close to where they play or practice. Nothing against Ridge, I think he would be fantastic against FCS competition.

Same.........I watched 3 1A ball games this year and 1A ball isn't what it used to be pre- Katrina.....

We know Ford's your guy but you always put down other player. That's why I think your full of crap.

When did I put him down? Does he have any Division I offers? Those are the facts qb. I, unlike you, will not pump sunshine about a player unless it's realistic. I happen to think Turner is a fantastic player. Let's look at it like this. He had numbers simlilar to Ryan Perriloux right? Well, Perriloux had his numbers against 5A competition and he still couldn't break the starting lineup at an SEC school in three years.
You think Turner can play Division I football, realistically?

Michael Clayton-LSU
Rufus Alexander-OU linebacker, was big 12 def player of the year
Stefon Lefors-Louisville
All came from CLA and were able to excel at the D-1 level

huh?
SP may be the best 1A team ever. At least in the last 25 years.
Turner will prob play d-1
Slyve is Crutchfield's step son. He can burn, like previously mentioned.

Yes, all those guys like Clayton and LeFors were also big enough to play Division I. None of those guys you mentioned were undersized like Turner. That's the point I'm trying to make.

The competition that I saw Turner up against last week was similar to the size and speed of Terrelle Pryor in his highlight video.
Not saying he is anything like TP, but I would think he will have a great college career at a FCS school, would love to see him somewhere like MSU or Arky........but that will not happen.
