What was your favorite over reaction to a Jay Johnson decision last year?

My personal favorite was all of the meteorologists that were calling for Jay's head when we started Paul Skenes against Tulane in the Regional

To be fair if LSU loses game 2 against Oregon St after using both Floyd and Hurd…

Insert middle of the week loss melt.

The melt over that was fricking insane

We also only used Skenes game 1 and no other arms. Freeing up everyone else the rest of the way

Folks saying they wished we had a coach like Van Horn after losing to Arky in the SEC tournament

Still disagree with that call. The fact that it worked out doesn't mean it wasn't questionable.

Jay made the wrong choice but got away with it. The winners bracket game with Oregon State was a war. Skenes would have been the much better option for that game.

If they held Skenes for game 2 he would have been wasted in the weather delay.
There are still some who would argue it was the wrong call, but it worked out perfectly. Skenes pitched as close to on schedule as possible and he was not started in a game that he would have been lost early in.
I'm sorry, not sorry, but it's the right call if it all works out. I didn't agree with the decision initially, but I was never upset about it. I figured Jay Johnson had his reasons and I was only going to get upset if LSU lost their regional.

Why would anyone be screaming? We are having a civil discussion.

The overreaction to it was ridiculous. People were whining so hard to it. At least let it play out before losing your mind. As I said I did not agree with it, but I was still willing to see how it all worked out. I am so thankful for the decision and how it played out.
I don't even hate Moscona, but the way he reacts to certain things likes this makes me not like some of his strong takes. He acted so high and mighty on his baseball knowledge over Jay's assessment of his own team. Just let it play out and at least be critical if it doesn't work out.

Jay Johnson can’t predict the weather, he proved that the following weekend when we waited 8 hours for a thunderstorm that never showed up to pass through.
Sometimes you make the right call and it doesn’t work out. And sometimes you make the wrong call and it works out.
Me saying I disagree with that one decision doesn’t mean I don’t think he coached masterfully from game 2 of the regionals through the CWS championship. Cause he did Coach masterfully in the post season.

I laughed so hard at that. There is not a single coach I would take over Jay Johnson and I said this before LSU won the championship.
My favorite overreaction take was some well known poster on here saying Jay Johnson could not win the big game.

I don't think that was an overreaction. I still think starting Skenes against Tulane was the wrong decision. You can make the wrong decision and it still work out. You can make the right decision and it still not work out. That's why you can't measure decisions by results. I'll always think that starting your best pitcher against a 4 seed in a college baseball regional is the wrong play.
With that said, I wouldn't take any coach over Jay Johnson and I would have said the same the entire time. It's okay to disagree.

That is a justified reaction. Your reaction was not the reaction by a lot on that day

Oh I melted my arse off for that one. Completely unhinged over here.

You’re right, it worked out. Had it not then he would of received major heat which would have been warranted.

Not letting Skenes take a “victory lap” and pitch one out in the Monday game in Omaha. Not starting him was the right call, but him hurling one last out would have been a nice touch.
