Most people don't notice watches. The only people you'll impress are other watch nerds.

Most expensive watches aren’t flashy at all, and you’d have no clue how much they cost unless you knew about watches. They also hold their value, and often appreciate. Not really the same as buying an 8 year old Mercedes and throwing rims on it.

The funny thing is I can put any of my high-end watches on and 99.9% of the population couldn't tell you if it was a $200 watch or a $100,000 watch without a Google machine.

I earn more than 97% of this country and the most expensive watch I own is my Apple Watch. And I don’t even wear it most of the time.
That said some watches hold their value very well and in some cases appreciate. I don’t follow them and wouldn’t know which are like that and which aren’t. There are a few that I really like but I would never wear them.
