Our bigs don’t hedge and help the guard. They are lazy and open up hips then trail the guard. Every time. If we help they kick if we don’t they drive. And they aren’t missing every layup.

Hedging doesn't work as much as our coaches in middle and high school led us to believe. At higher levels, it's a pick your poison scenario. If you hedge on the perimeter, you risk the roll/pop. If the roll/pop is found, and helpside comes...you risk the open shot if the pass is made. If you don't hedge you risk the three. Kim mentioned this in her postgame. Teams who execute the screens well, put you in a bad spot, bc you become unsure of what it is that you need to do.
