why would the feds care about basketball recruiting when there are real issues for them to deal with? SDNY should be dealing with terrorism not recruiting.
You’d have to ask them but it’s irrelevant to whether Wade was guilty of NCAA violations or that he is no longer coaching at LSU and is not coming back

it was perfectly reasonable for wade to assume his conversations were private. NCAA doesn't have the authority to listen in.
He can assume all he he wants, he was talking to people that were being investigated by the FBI, that he did not know that is not their or the NCAA’s problem. He was not fired for breaking the law so any 4th or 5th amendment protections do not apply to the NCAA or his employer

so you believe wade should have assumed the govt was listening in to his phone calls? phone calls about basketball recruits?
seems fair for wade to assume that the govt has no business whatsoever in those conversations. it happened he was wrong and they were listening in, but it seems fair for him to assume they were not, given his own privacy rights as an American.
