It all depends on the viewer’s perspective. A lot of people, including myself, relate with Edward Norton’s character. He’s an average dude who works an unfulfilling job, lives alone, is dead on the inside, and is completely numb to the outside world. Eventually, the Tyler Durden in him says “frick it, I want to FEEL like I’m alive” which is why he starts a fight club.
We all have a Tyler Durden personality inside of us. We might reel it in and keep it stored away so we can at least be presentable to society, but it never leaves us. It’s our primal instincts as male homosapiens to have a lack of empathy, be vicious, and compete with other men to be at the top of the hierarchy. It’s how we survived the Ice Age.

quote:Any time I felt anywhere near this bad about any part of my life, I got in the car and drove at least 90 mph on a two lane highway. Nearly had a wreck every time. That always gave me an appreciation for whatever life I had at the time. Don't allow yourself to hate life. It's very unproductive, and a waste of time. Go sit in the "chemo infusion room" at a hospital so you'll see people with real problems. Find fun hobbies or something please.
