When Saban was hired, who was AD? AD gets all the credit and fault.
With that, I don’t give Dean credit for the 5 National Championships for Skip. I give him credit for all those Championships for track - which are more than any AD

quote:Dean refused to hire Saban. He told LSU Chancellor Mark Emmert that Saban was asking for too much money and LSU fans would protest paying that much for a coach.
Among Dean's final major decisions at the helm of the athletic department was to hire Nick Saban as head football coach.
Emmert ordered Dean to offer Saban the job anyway which Dean did reluctantly.

a man that point blank admits he did not hire Saban.
a man that point blank admits he would not have hired him for anywhere close to that amount of money.
a man who before the search even began point blank said he wasn’t going to be doing the search or hiring of the football coach.

not when from day 1 literally every single person involved clearly lets everybody know that the AD isn’t doing the search, interviews, negotiating, or hiring he doesn’t.
