We’re about to do some of the New Orleans bits from A Confederacy of Dunces. No Mardis Gras stories, but only because I don’t know any. If anyone has any good recommendations, please share!!
Right now we are reading some classic short stories: Eudora Welty, Flannery O’Connor, Richard Wright, Faulkner, Alice Walker….
Good stuff, though I'm not familiar with Richard Wright. The Moviegoer by Walker Percy is the only one I thought of off the top of my head that works Mardi Gras partly into the plot, but it's been years since I've read it. it's set mostly in New Orleans. If you haven't read Percy, then, well, you should!

The Moviegoer is a good one, too! So much good writing from the south.
