oh and ALL of the uptown parades.

So if you are not defending this behavior, why are you in this thread?
Because every year the same dorks whine about any tent going up, not just the embellished situation you posted. I've seen a scenario like that once in my almost 40 years of parade going

Groups of try hards go out there and block up the entire route and then have full blown meltdowns when people try to walk through the neutral ground because their stuff is getting stepped on. They leave no access to the street because they lay down ladders, tents, ice chests, etc and tie them together.

2 hrs before the parade started. Some chairs and etc, nothing like you always saw on Orleans or have seen all over in recent years.

Let's send the cops to pull up someone's tarp.
cops can't stop that. The court system likely could have prevented it though. I imagine the shooter has been released several times on gun charges.

You do realize that 2 hours before parades start are pretty early and some parades are back to back to back.
So let’s say a parade starts at Napoleon and Camp at 10 am, you’re saying people can’t set up at Napoleon and St Charles until 8 am???
That first parade doesn’t make it downtown for at least 3-4 hours, which puts them downtown at 2 pm.
But they are allowed to start setting up at 8 am bc that’s 2 hours before the parade starts.
Do you realize how fricking stupid you’re making yourself look in this thread?

We hang with a group of NOFD that when they get off at 5am on Baccus Sunday morning they go set up our spot on Napoleon and Camp across from the church and we’ve been doing this since before Katrina.
We also have a separate group we have an apartment with on St Charles that we bounce back and forth and those people are out there setting up on Baccus Sunday at daylight. Some people even sleep out there.
No one has ever said anything, it’s well patrolled and everyone gets along.

You're full of shite.
Unless you had someone there 24/7, most of that stuff is getting stolen if you just leave it there for a week.

Same for Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, and French Quarter fest I am not a fan of “saving a spot”. Let it breathe as people come and go. Mardi Gras for all.

He saw a 7 second news flash of a couple Delgado students camping out for a couple nights on Orleans Ave and he thinks that goes on throughout the entire city even though he’s never even actually been to New Orleans before, during or after Mardi Gras
