I get what you're saying but there's no way that pistol Pete does that With integrated basketball In the modern era period Certainly not 44 points a game. The guy was awesome and maybe the best or in the top three and LSU history for sure. I just think some of the ways that he is immortalized around here are a little bit over the top. Do you think Wilt Chamberlain would have scored all of those points in the '90s? It has nothing to do with skin color specifically but the level of competition

It's interesting that you bring up Wilt Chamberlain...

I'm not a fan of the NBA anymore due to the 3 point shot and how it's changed the game. Shaq was really the last great low-post center, the game no longer values 2 pt shots at that level.

But the way things focus on 3 pt shots now, I absolutely think Pistol would dominate the game today. If there was a 3 pt line and shotclock in college at the time, he's leading LSU to the Final Four and maybe a title, instead of NIT-level success. He is EXACTLY what you want in that format; great shooter with unlimited range, excellent ball skills and a high awareness of where people are. And he has the size, too, at 6'5. The reason they didn't win more in college was that the low post was a more important position than the perimeter, and a layup counted the same as a 25 ft jumper.
LSU's team with Shaq and Stanley would have won the NCAA tourney without a 3 pt line... with one they lost in the 2nd rd to Ga Tech.

As to the OP, there is no comparison between Pete's record and a women's player, any more than there is between Canadian League football and the NFL.
