.300 with no power, no speed, no walks, and Ks a lot in college baseball is pretty bad imo.

I just looked Milazzo’s stats and he was 29/97 last year with 23ks. 28 of the 29 were singles. .289 avg and .299 slg.

That is pretty bad.

His K rate was not anything above average. He is not some automatic out. His OBp was higher than Jordan Thompson. The frick is wrong with you?

There were definitely some people that didn’t understand that last year. I think finally seeing a competent defensive catcher made people a little biased towards him. His defense basically became folktale. As a hitter, at one point his OPS was around even with Neal’s, but Neal was hitting .220 and Milazzo was around .320… that’s not really sustainable.

At least we’ve come along way from people betting it would be impossible for him to hit .250
