No, you very much so took out of context his words. That's what most left leaning people do. Again, he was speaking of red flag laws. Like the ones in most red GOP ran states.
As of May 2023, 21 states and the District of Columbia have enacted some form of red-flag law. The only SEC state that has it is Florida.
