Yep. Getting reinstated means that he gets retroactive credit for those years and the state has to pay for the retirement contributions that would have been made by him had he not been fired.
I don’t know what the service year requirement is for cops but getting about 18 months of service you don’t have to pay for is a big fricking deal.
