Covid was understood in real time to be the political weapon it clearly was. Covid was also understood in nearly real time to not be the threat to life the Left/establishment promised it was. The argument that enough is known about Covid only in hindsight to make rational decisions is inaccurate.
As for Trump v. others that played along at least for a while - with Trump, he became more compliant over time. With others, it was the other way around. Also, only Trump is accountable for his administration, which the CDC is part of - and he should have made sure his own people were not making shite up, lying, hiding/hedging, etc.

No its not. That's just factually and objectively wrong. Trump got it wrong, so did Ron, and so did literally every other leader in the civilized world to various degrees in the early stages. He presided over the pandemic response for exactly 6 months before being voted out of office. Within that time frame, there wasnt a single world leader questioning these things. They followed what we all thought to be the "science" of the day. All of them. From a global perspective, Trump was repeatedly panned for being too lax on Covid while the current leaders danced in the streets of Chinatown. Dont come here and gaslight everyone. We were there. We dont need you to tell us what happened.

I don't know what you'd hold as "the threat to life the Left/establishment promised it was."
I do know the threat to life the original strains actually were, though. They were roughly 6x-8x more virulent than present-day strains.
