Based on level of competition and the caliber of coach at either institution the answer is McNeese
You do realize that McNeese is one of the absolute worst basketball schools in the southland, right? They have been historically awful, not middle of the pack, but awful. This is not the equivalent of a southland, perennial power starting over.

You do realize the southland is a dogshit conference and will wade is a hell of a recruiter right? It took literally one power 5 caliber player (Shahada Wells) to make mcneese into one of the top teams in that conference.
I don’t care how bad that team was before, it’s always going to be easier to rebuild in a weaker conference than in a power 5 conference, especially with a coach as good as wade.
Obviously mcneese wont be competing for national titles but in terms of what a “rebuild” means RELATIVE to their position in the landscape of division 1 men’s basketball it is far easier at mcneese with a coach like wade
