the parish as a whole is paying a shite ton of money for shitty police protection in other parts of the parish.
And I thought unincorporated BR paid for BRFD bc that’s who has the EMS services?
Or is that extra money that is going to their funds?

Unincorporated BR directly pays for the sheriff and all other tax money not previously earmarked goes into the parish general fund.
And BRPD and BRFD get 50% of the parish general fund by law before anyone else gets a taste.
